The Studio
MYRPHS is a Toronto-based surface design studio creating artist-designed wallpaper, textiles, and home décor from original works of art. Every pattern begins as a drawing, painting, photograph, or material exploration before being thoughtfully translated onto different textile surfaces.
Working primarily on a made-to-order basis, MYRPHS prioritizes craftsmanship, customization, and responsible production. Whenever possible, products are printed and made in Canada in collaboration with trusted manufacturing partners.
While interior surfaces remain the studio's primary focus, MYRPHS also explores wearable & movement-oriented textiles as an extension of the artist's evolving practice.
The Artist
An overly inquisitive child, Hatley began cultivating a visual language before she had fully developed a verbal one, drawing garments and doodling constantly. A carry-on in her parents extensive travels, she participated in global adventures that continue to inform her practice.
Material exploration, visual juxtapositions of urban and natural environments, sustainable practice, and haptic & ludic approaches to making are a few of the many things that inform her work. Her rapidly evolving methods of creating lend a unique, original and imaginative aesthetic to her patterns and art which she hopes inspire and excite the spirit of any space.
