An overly inquisitive child, Hatley began cultivating a visual language before she had fully developed a verbal one, drawing garments and doodling constantly. A carry-on in her parents extensive travels, she participated in global adventures that continue to inform her practice.

Material exploration, visual juxtapositions of urban and natural environments, sustainable practice, and haptic & ludic approaches to making are a few of the many things that inform her work. Her rapidly evolving methods of creating lend a unique, original and imaginative aesthetic to her patterns and art which she hopes inspire and excite the spirit of any space.
